• Agriculture Biotechnology : high yielding, pest  and diseases resistant, food tolerant , salt tolerant agricultural plants are developed by using biotech based techniques such as mutagenesis, gene cloning, rDNA technology.
• Pharmaceutical Biotechnology: it is under medical biotechnology undergoing fast development.
• Medical Biotechnology : it opens new window by providing various sensitive and more rapid diagnostic aid and techniques for correction of hereditary disorder by gene incaraption. The production of artificial organ like liver, kidney are emerging fields of this subject.
• Textile and paper Biotechnology : cost effective better quality are using polymer engineering
• Environmental Biotechnology : waste from carbon industrial area are destroyed by special cloned microbes.
• Mining and metal Biotechnology : isolating and purification of metals and minerals by using special micerobes which can erode the surface of the metal.
• Leather Biotechnology : skin is being done by using various enzyme system.

What Is Bioscience:Biology is the science of living creatures. But the basis of all organisms is the tendency towards organization leading to diverse forms. So the similarity between a man and bacteria is at the cellar level only. Attempts have been made to postulate the theory of life using some fundamentals of biological and chemical science leading to the subject called biosciences.

Occasional development in basic and bioscience lead our knowledge to be much more application oriented with great potential for further innovation. The developments which revolutionized “bioscience “ could be sporadic but certainly imparted great wealth to the more specialized discipline referred to as biotechnology.
